PacIOOS' Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) provides a 6-day prediction for the Mariana Islands area, which includes Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), with a 1.2 mile (2 km) dissolution. The ROMS (http://myroms.org) is an open code open code modell used by the academic world for a variety of purposes.

The Mariana Regional Models are configurated and manufactured by Dr. Brian Powell and the Oceanography Laboratory of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawai?i at M?noa The constraints are provided by the broader ROMS models for the area around the West North Pacific (ROMS_MARI) with a solution of approx. 4 km.

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) for the Mariana Islands (WRF_Guam) produces atmosphere force with a dissolution of about 3 km. In addition, all available observation over the last 3 working day will be used to assimilate the results to enhance the estimation of the actual marine condition before predictions are made. Observed assimilations may comprise satellite-based marine surfaces such as the surfaces of the MODIS, APHRR or OSTIA, satellite-based marine surfaces of AVISO and in-situ waters and salt content profiling of ARGO-swimmers.

ROMS also provides water temperature and salinity prediction for the Mariana Islands.
