Maayafushi VOI Resort, North Ari Atoll, - reviews and packages
"On our honeymoons, we went to Maayafushi through Thomas Cook (for honeymoons they organize a hamper and a glass of grape juice and vine in your room and a lovely candlelight dinner on the beach). Before I made the reservation I did some research on other isles and found Maayafushi suitable to the place we were looking for for our honeymoon, and we were not dissapointed.
We arrived in Maayafushi from the aerodrome by floatplane and it was a great journey that took about 20 minutes (I think?!), with your camcorders and camcorders waiting for some great footage of other Isles as you flew over Malé aerodrome. Arriving in Maayafushi we were welcomed by Enrico (a member of the animation team) and were surprised how nice the beach was.
We took our luggage out of the airplane and brought it to the front desk and went to the bar/lounge to talk about the offers of the isle and the regulations of the isle ( bathing clothes may not be carried in the pub or restaurants etc.).
There are two deck chairs at your disposal, which you can take with you anywhere, but we usually remained close to our bungalows, as they were quite remote anyway. On a regular basis the beaches were cleared of falling foliage etc. and the whole isle was very neat and orderly. Last time we slept our linen was pleated into a unique floral petal pattern.
We would have loved to sleep on the ground that sleep! Also our dinner in our restuarant was decorated with blossoms on the last evening of our departure. It seemed as if the chalets were located on the edge of the islands, among some kind of gardens with ponds and bushes, vegetation and so on.
Dinner was awesome and so tasty. 30 o'clock and was quite diversified with a sideboard or a kind of sideboard just to get the appetizers and then your waitress (who is assigned to your table) will take you a basic course with seafood or lamb/chicken and vegetable etc.. It' either a full breakfast or a kind of starter and then the waitress would serve a starter.
It was of Italien inspiration and therefore the meal followed an Italien style, with risotto, pizza, pasta etc., but every evening curries, soups and vegetable were served. There is one day per weeks in Italy, a barbeque with tasty Italians (!), a Maldive dinner with only Maldive dishes (curries, steamsas etc. were delicious!) and also a barbecue evening with live seafood and chickens (with a buffet).
Between the above mentioned hours you can also get meals from the café, like pizza, cakes etc. in the restaurants. Suroor was our waitress and he was bright, kind, funny and teaches us different origami technics with our serviettes! There are several institutions on the islands. You have one overnight (I think it is Monday) during which the scuba divers will present you with your scuba certification.
There' s a store on Maayafushi that isn't very inexpensive, but you can buy all your souvenir items from here, slongs, important things like sunscreen and shampoos, some Ding Dongs and chips, even cards and postage stamps (there is a small mailbox in front of the store). It was an Italians physician and had a good time telling him what was going wrong, but in the end we got there and he gave me another crème and pills for it (free), which solved everything within a few dais.
There' s a bar/lounge area (sandy ground â" so little need for shoes) where the personnel is great and learns your âordinaryâ and brings it to you when you haven't even ordered it! Every mornin' my man and I went into the lounges and after only one or two days the waitress brought us a nice glass of coffee and a little bit of apple syrup without asking us!
At night Idrish the Waitress brought us a glass of Mangosaft or a nice glass of coffee (there is booze, but we don't drink). Thereâ?? a café area where you can go in with your swimsuit and have a snack and toast. It was Jay (another waiter). Thereâ?? s a TV and a movie in the café area, but due to the impact of Italy, the TV is always tuned in to an Ital.
There is a ping-pong court behind the café, where we played and had a lot of time. Mostly used by employees (mostly waiters) who are playing a match from 6 pm to 7 pm. If, in addition to the meals offered in the restaurant bar, such as a barbecue meal, or lobsters and seafood, etc., you can do so for an additional surcharge.
But it was wonderful. So we were alone on the shore with the sea and the clear starry skies with the bright sun and just the two of us, and Suroor our waitress (who left us alone but looked after us once in a while) was there to take our lunch and everything we needed.
After canoing we went around the beach, which was really great enjoy. An âAnimation Teamâ was assigned to the Isle, which supervised all the activities, the island's amenities, excursions and entertainments. Snorkel excursions, scuba dive excursions, mornings and nights and excursions to populated isles are available for a small surcharge.
Usually we were informed that they would increase the prices of the articles by 50% to bargain them as much as possible, although this can only be done on the occupied isles, so do not bargain in Maayafushi's mall! We were welcomed on the Isle by the village people who gave us a glass of homemade drinking chocolate from coco nuts and visited the Isle.
This was a fishermen's isle and we got to see the dhoni, the musks, the school and the stores. On Maayafushi Isle, the inhabited islets and times all trading in US dollars so take this as your main source of income. One Monday evening the audience has the chance to go on scene with Luca and singing and playing with him. My man and one of our best friend have done this.
Every night my man and I would go to the sundown and it was wonderful. Obstfledermäuse are found on the islands and it is astonishing to see them fly around and hang headfirst in a tree. We' ve also taken single-use camcorders and we've got some really good photos (the cams are also on sale in the Maayafushi shop).
We had great personnel, the people we made were great, the equipment was really good, the islands were wonderful.
