Discover Hidden Fiji: Lau Islands
Whilst all of Fiji's areas are lovely and unspoilt and offer an unforgettable resort, there is one area that is largely unexplored and provides the ultimative peaceful and restful resort - the secluded Lau archipelago. The Lau Island is the ideal place if you are looking for a resort where you can discover a part of the world that has been practically unaffected by man.
Uncultivated, untouched, with a singular cultivation and a breath-robbing landscape, the Lau group lies in the south Pacific, eastern of the Koro Sea and extends over an area of almost 500 sqm. It comprises about 60 small isles ( "islets") and is the ideal place for your honeymoon, your retreat, surf trip or your private reunion.
As Fiji is such an unspoilt, unexploited area, there are only two types of formal lodging in the Lau Islands and no restaurant or large hotel to chose from. Instead, guests can spend the night in an original, inexpensive guest house on Vanua Balavu or Lakeba. Moana's Guest House is situated on Vanua Balavu and is made up of two large, traditionally built Boers situated on the water.
Every office is fitted with bed linen, sunlight and personal equipment, and the lodging contains three lunches per family. Travelers who want to spend their holidays with the Lau Group can take part in a wide range of different leisure and leisure pursuits during their stay in the area. A few of the most favoured choices are sight-seeing tours to see the various archipelago and see some of the best village people; windsurfing at some of the best riff break sites in the planet; swim, dive and snorkel in the crystalline water of the area ( "Bay of Islands" is a breathtaking place); walking in the countryside; swim with shark; fish and sail; or visit the Qilaqila Marine Reserve on Vanua Balavu Isle.
Take a flight via Fiji Airways to Nadi and then rent a vessel (apply for customs clearance from the Ministry of Fijian Affairs) or reserve a fare on a cargo/passenger ferry for the last stage of your trip to the isles. As an alternative, Fiji is served by the Fiji Lin service, which operates direct flights to Vanua Balavu, the second biggest of the Lau-Archipels.
Though Fiji is nice all year round, visitors will favour a stay during the drought, which lasts from April to October. Fiji Airways has made this contribution available to you.
