The Munro Way - This hard 11 mile long ascent through Norfolk pine forests is a pulmonary broom, but when you get to the top you'll be awarded with stunning views of Molokai, Maui, Kahoolawe and Hawaii Iceland. From the Lanai cemetery (interesting for itself) along the Keomoku Road (Hwy. 44) and follows the old edge of the Lanai calendara to the highest point of the cemetery, Lanaihale.

Four leagues down, you've got a glimpse of Lanai City. Diehard's walk down the cliffy southern edge of the Lanai craters to get on the Manele Bay highways. See "Munro Trail" for more information on the Munro Track - incl. all-wheel drive. Kapihahaa Way - An old fishing path begins at Manele Bay and winds its way along the picturesque coast.

You will become acquainted with Lanai's exceptional geographical location and many uncommon indigenous species of coastline herbs. Coloiki Ridge Hiking - The fun 2-hour self-guided walk begins at the reflective swimming pool in the back yard of Koele Lodge and leads you on a 5 mile long bend through the pine trees of Norfolk Island, into Hulopoe Valley, past ferocious gingerbread and up to Koloiki Ridge with its scenic views of Maunalei Valley and the Molokai and Maui isles.

It is not clearly signposted, so ask the Four Seasonscierge ('; 808/565-2000) for a free card or register for a walking tour. Pehe-Skirt along Hulopoe Bay to reach the rock at its southerly rim (it is a soft hill, not a precipitous one). A 20-minute walk across the blue water of Shark's Corve to the spectacular point of Puu Pehe or Sweetheart's Rock.
