On a journey through this historic countryside one can experience the reverence for the emergence and coming of live on an isle on once sparse waters. It is also touching the miracle of the first humans who populated the Hawaiian Islands almost 800 years ago to become Hawaiians and how they were living in the countryside in a meticulous system of environmentalism.

About Hawaii's Lanai as a hidden travel gem

You will find quaint tropic excursions on the islands of Hawaii, but Lanai is a unique wonder. Although it is only nine leagues off the shore of Maui, Lanai looks beyond, a retrospective of how Hawaii once was. This thinly inhabited 141 square kilometer large islet has only about 30 kilometers of cobbled streets and a filling point, and the scenery stretches from desert-like terrains to a breathtaking shoreline that houses a conservation area.

The new Four Seasons Lana'i is what really takes the private isle beyond the usual. That' s why we have made Lanai 2016 one of our top tourist attractions. Recently renovated in the millions (more on this later), the resort has changed the way the island is experienced.

This means that if you connect from Maui after the 45-minute trip by boat or take a flight to the one-way Lanai Airport, a four-season vehicle is awaiting you to take you to the destination. If you want to discover the islands, the hotels has its own pool of cars, so you don't have to consult a landlord.

It is an interesting trend that the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Koele will be reopening its peaceful, rural home as a health and beauty resort by the end of the year. All in all, a smooth adventure. Four Seasons is overlooking Hulopo'e Bay, a maritime reserve.

It' a little away from the motel - it's a five-minute walk - so although this stripe of fine sandy is open to the general public, it' never overcrowded. This cave-like adult swimming pool was created to imitate the rocks of the Isle ( "Lanai" was the birth place of rock diving). You will circumnavigate Lanai on one route, the other through Maui, Molokai and Kahoolawe, an inhabited islet that was used as a bombardment area for the U.S. Navy after the war.

The Four Seasons give them a special culture by letting native guide take them to the sights along the route. Airconditioned airflow on the UTV trail head with beverages and toilets for a more relaxed outing in genuine Four Seasons-mode. Situated in the middle of the opening of new paths for horse and UTV, and as they are ready, more streams of fresh outdoors will be added.

So we decided to go horse backpacking, a quieter way to see the other side of the isle. In the stables of Koele, which were renamed in February under the roof of Four Seasons, we meet the Wranglerin Molly Dunwell for our group. Throughout the four miles long cycle, the five-year-old inhabitant of Lanai provided some compelling treats, such as the dark remains of plastics on the floor in some places on the islands are the remains of Lanai's earlier lives as the biggest pinapple orchard in the worlds (Dole's last crop was in the early 1990s).

Gib, our crimson quarter-puller, bounced along the quiet field track and took us through the arid, desert-like scenery that is very different from that of the beach resort (wearing trousers and a long-sleeved gown - this part of the islands is about 10 to 15 degree colder than the hotel's Hulopo'e Bay, and the ponies tread a large part of the powdery path).

Dunwell made a few stopovers to show the views, one of them from Maui and Molokai. Encircled by craggy rocks and crackling ripples, the twelfth pocket is particularly drastic (Bill Gates was once wed there, and he came back in 2015 to commemorate his anniversary). Most of the course (open only to Hawaiians and hotels ) does about 30 laps per night, so you will have no problems getting discount time.

HotelFocus on expertise and services may be Lanai's most important task, but the resort itself is not an outcast. Beautifully crafted Nepali wallpapers, walnut flooring and weaved couches with pillows in canvas. The beige-brown-white surfaces adhere to the noble insular look with zebrano and tea-tree. You will want to try the toilet articles - the luxurious resort has developed in collaboration with the nature firm Lather Aina (Hawaiian for "land"), a tailor-made line of scented plureria items (including a well thought-out after-sun cream) using kucci walnuts from Alberta's farm in Lanai.

RestaurantsNobu Lanai - the first Nobu station in the Four Seasons range - is the title of the restaurants. Nobu Matsuhisa's famous traditional food with Lanai produce shows off some of the best chefs, but also has two Teppanyaki bars. You can order the juicy Big Island Hummer, which is piled on crunchy cloves of crunchy maize and fried maize.

Malibu Farm, located by the swimming poolside, is the latest gastronomic supplement. However, its best feature is what makes the archipelago so special: the peaceful, uninterrupted view of the rugged rocks and the sea.
