The Hawai'i Lodging & Tourism Association members in 1979 agreed to expand the range of assistance through fundraising. CHARITY WHALK of the visitor industry is the outcome of this choice. Hikers are pampered with meals, drinks and entertainment at the control points along the hiking itinerary. Hawai`i Hotel and Alliance organisations run all check points and provide refreshment and assistance.
