Take Highway 583 to the southern end of the Wailua River, this falls is easily seen from a viewpoint on the sidelines. You' ll have to take a relaxing trip up the Wailua River to reach the scenic fern-fringed cavern that is the Ferngrotte. Dew-fresh and emerging greens, the cavern is a naturally occurring rocky cliff with pendulous fern and leaf.

Wilcox's 80 acre Grove Farm Homestead was once a large estate that has been retained as a representation of it all. The fishpond Alekoko Menehune, constructed almost 1,000 years ago, just a few steps from Lihue, has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973.

Nawiliwili Harbour, the Kauai Port since 1930, is a scenic environment that accommodates many cruisers. Situated at the estuary of the Hule'ia stream, named after the Wiliwili tree that once dominated the area. Visit this school to see the work of locals and find out more about Hawaii's cultural and historical heritage.
