The Hawaiian language:[la??n??i, na?

-]) is the sixth largest of the Hawaiian islands and the smallest publicly accessible inhabited island in the chain. Also known as Pineapple Island for its past as an island-wide pineapple plantation. the unit that runs Ellison's operations on the island. ***This tour takes place from Monday to Friday. There is no information on Hawaiian coastal waters on this list.

This is the ideal excursion for your Maui holiday!

The sixth biggest island in Hawaii, Lanai is also called "Pineapple Island". It used to belong to the Dole Ananas Company, and much of it was used for,....you guess!....their apple grow. It was the biggest pinapple orchard in the whole wide globe!

Talking of pinapples, did you know you can cultivate your own Hwaiian pinapples in the house? It' a great way to take home a little bit of Hawaii! To learn more about how to start a pinapple and how to cultivate a pinapple in your home, click here! Because of the closeness to the island Maui it is the perfect place for a day trip from Maui!

For just over an overnight stay in our 3-star resorts, my hubby and I took a full length trip to this wonderful island for dolphins and snorkellers! So we could look at the island from the sea and discover the area around Manele Bay.

When you want to see more of this island of Hawaii than a day trip allows, you can spend as many evenings as you like in one of the two big touristic places: An extended stop like this would allow you to discover much more of the island than we could on our day trip.

Particularly if you decide for a few nights, you can visit the many rides like Keahiakawelo (also known as Garden of the Gods), horseback rides, Shipwreck Beach or even worlds best gulf! And, since this wonderful harbour is an island, you can also enjoy snorkelling (as we did!) or canoeing.

Last, but not least, if you feel like adventures, you can explore the rainforest-covered Lana'ihale summit - this is the highest point on Lanai Island, Hawaii!
