UltraSlim HP 2013 Dock - Locking Stations
The HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station, a one-click docking station for selected ultra-flat HP EliteBook notebook computers, lets you quickly and simply extend your viewing, networking and equipment connections to set up an always-on workstation.
I' ve purchased the dock for my EliteBook. We' re enjoying this dock. I' m doing what it had more monitoring sockets. All I can do is talk to my special notebook type. The dockingstation was provided by my company as a wireless working environment. Sluggish, Minimum Footing, Digital Port works perfectly with my dual-screen set-up, Digital Out works, Digital Out works, Digital Out works, Boot timing not affected Cons: Does not supports microphone inputs, necessary digital in, necessary refresh to solve the digital out of the digital out, Detection problem - laptops had to be opened and shut to connect the digital out to the digital out, does not use the same PS adaptor as the laptops.
All in all I like all of my favourite hi-fi and LCD sockets. It' simple to block and unblock the notebook from the dock. Because it had dual-DP screen connectors and a single VPGA connector, I purchased this special dock so it looked like I could power two separate screens and use a DP HDMI cable to power a HiDef TV as an additional visual indicator for a combined of three separate screens.
You can use the DP-HDMI, but the second DP interface cannot be used at all if another display is used. I' ve tried every configuration I can think of, DP-VGA adapters, DP-DVI-D adapters, but there is no obvious way to supply more than 2 remotes with this dock.
I' m not sure why they have the second DP interface at all, because it seems to be not working at all. If you have 2 newer displays with DP sockets, it might work, but I can't even find displays with DP sockets. but this dock deceives you into thinking it can do more than it actually can.
And I can't see why it doesn't have an HDMI connector, so you don't have to buy a new cable or adaptor to power HDMI source. I' m using the dock with a brandnew ZBook 15-u. Dock had more options for displaying remotely than is the case. I' m working from home and I need a good dockingstation, that's it!
Not a problem with several screens, as most people have 2, one VPGA and the other VPN and they work well....until now. Approximately 1.5 years and successful 1 year guarantee, the highest dock/undock user will have problems attaching their device. The design of the bolts holding the synthetic strap that carries the small "L" lugs that secure the notebook in place seems to tear off its basis and prevent the "L" lugs from soaring upwards.
It was a sturdy substitute for my initial dock and actually offered more display ports.
