Getting to Stewart Island

Best Way to Stewart Island - Review of Stewart Island Flights, Invercargill, New Zealand Part of our self-drive New Zealand sightseeing we wanted to see Stewart Island and decided for the full days of Stewart Island Flights. We began our days with a check-in at Invercargill International at 07:30 am. The Invercargill is not a big one. On Stewart Island we ended up on a plain asphalted runway and were picked up by a mini bus for the brief excursion to Oban.

We were surprised when KEN, our boat cab driver, waited for Ulva Island. He was great - so useful - and he took us to the quay from where his boat took us to Ulva Island. We took shelter at the South Seas Hotel for dinner, where the meal was good, but the waiters were very sluggish.

At 14:00 o'clock we went with the mini bus on the Stewart Island guided tour. Sea Ferries had been canceled, but Stewart Island Flights had no fear. We fled again to the South Sea Hotel and were asked to be available for our departure at 5:30 pm.
