The only way to Maui is to go to Honolulu first? I' m looking into my honeymoon in Maui and trying to find out the fares. I' d look into both possibilities - one-way vs. liaison in Honolulu. In my opinion, it is more costly to go directly to Maui.

Most of the time I go directly from Chicago to OGG. But I don't think it's much less expensive from the eastern shore to Honolulu. Considering Maui as the form of a person's shoulder and skull, you will probably reach their necks, Kahului Airport (OGG). Honolulu is the only way to get to Molokai or Lanai. The following carriers are flying directly from the US continent to Kahului:

Alaska Airlines operates from Anchorage to Seattle to Kahului; American Airlines operates from Los Angeles and San Jose; Northwest Airlines operates from Oakland, California; Continental Airlines operates from Orange County, California; and Delta Air Lines operates from San Francisco via Los Angeles.

There are other airline companies flying to Honolulu, where you have to take a stopover to Maui. The companies mentioned in the previous section also operate many other services to Honolulu from other continental destinations. The Hawaiian Airline provides airliner services from Honolulu. When you don't rent a vehicle, the best way to get to your accommodation is by SpeediShuttle (Tel. 877/242-5777; www.speedishuttle.com), which takes you between Kahului Airport and all important holiday destinations from 6am to 11pm every day.

When possible, you should not land on Maui between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. if the workers on Maui are "pau work" (finished working) and there is a large congestion at the first crossing leaving the Aiport. In Honolulu you have to take a stopover to Maui. I must admonish you, however, that I did not have a first-class Iceland Air flight and suggest that you choose another airline. A number of major carriers are offering transit or trans-Atlantic travelers under the name Vis USA discounted fares, most of which allow one-way trips from one US country to another at very competitive fares.

The Norwegian 2,240-passenger Pride of America orbits the hawaiian isles and stops on the Big Isles, Maui, Kauai and Oahu; some routes even lead to the Republic of Kiribati's fishing boat on the way back to Honolulu. However, the drawback of a boat trip is that you cannot see any of the deep or calm islets; the benefit is that you can enjoy your day to explore the isle on which the ship docks and your night on board the boat that goes to the nearest dock.
