Its name derives from the wilderness giants (local lizards) that run through its 1000 hectares of protected area. Situated in the midst of palms, Lizard Islands offers visitors the opportunity to picnic on their own beach at dusk before they return to one of the 40 luxurious suite. Situated on a privately owned northern Great Barrier Reef is a self-catering, luxurious eco-resort with many islands to explor.
Neighbouring water contains wrecks, World War II artifacts and the breathtaking underwater world for which the reef is known. North West Island, the biggest island of corals in the area, is part of Capricornia Cays National Park and provides camper tourists with tropic woodland strolls, bird nests and all the dive sites they could wish for.
