Arrival to Kadavu (and back!) from Sydney - Kadavu Island Forum

Hello everyone, everyone seems to enjoy Kadavu, and it seems awesome. We' re considering flying there, and we' re trying to find out the details of the plane. Do you have any travel tips to/from Australia (Sydney)? Sometimes you have to stay overnight in Nadi (which I try to prevent - I would rather be a Kadavu:-), but I realize that some planes from Kadavu arrive at 12:50 pm, which gives you 2-3 hrs time to change to a Pacific Blue plane to Sydney (or Sydney via Brisbane).

Will it take long to get checked into Nadi, or will the Kadavu aircraft probably be too lat?

Pictures from Kadavu Island, Fiji

The Kadavu Island is Fiji's fourth biggest island. Although it is only 5 hours by car from Fiji's capitol Suva, Kadavu is generally regarded as a "remote" island because it is very sparsely inhabited and undeveloped. In fact, the small village life there is certainly like a very secluded island.

Kadavu has few small, dispersed towns and a few resort sites, so most of the island is unspoilt nature: dense jungles, living grass mounds, cliffy coasts, mangrove, slender shores and the wide Pacific Ocean. Kadavu's east and south sides are sheltered from the full onrush of the Pacific by a solid barriere coral cliff, the Great Astrolabe reef, known for its varied and wonderful caves.

An accumulation of much smaller islets are spread around the major island and further out on the seas. One of the most famous is the small island of Galoa, located in the shape of a kadavu beach, just a stone's throw from the''mainland''. Luckily I spent two in Galoa with an Australian-Fijian married couple and helped them build their new, solidly built holiday home.

During my free times I was kayaking, snorkeling, sunbathing on the beach, taking pictures and taking care of my regular blogs. Then after two week I took the full days boat back to Suva, which was a great'tour' over the long island of Kadavu with stunning outlooks. I would like you to see these 20 pictures of Kadavu from my 2-week stay.
