The Fijian Myths

The Fijian mythology refers to the beliefs of the indigenous people of the island of Fiji. In the Middle Ages there was a Fijian god named Takuaka. Dakuwaqa, one of the most famous gods in Fijian legends, is the wild sea monster. The Fijian myth is that huge war canoes from Taganika (a place north of Egypt) brought the first settlers to Fiji. This is a book with ancient Fijian and Rotuman folklore.
