Fiji Island Fishing
fishing Fiji Island2017 Fishing in Fiji - Anglers Fishing World
This is the right place to attack GT, Ruby Jobfish, Dogtooth and Coral Trout, and an excellent place to relax. Perth has settled down and the temperatures have dropped, it was the best season to go to Fiji. Because of the southeast breeze in August, we decided on two targets on the west cost of Fiji.
and Denarau. A few fligths later we arrived at Nadi Airport and within 30 minutes we jumped on a floatplane to reach our first goal, Mana Island Resort. Flying us over some astonishingly clear tropic water and the most astonishing coral wall that any angler would love.
The journey was definitely over and the agitation had started. When the floatplane touched down on the sea, we wanted to unpack and discover this marvel. Talking to the local people it was agreed that we should be sorting the Danny's Island and Nature's work. It was Danny and his fishing-friend.
We had a chat with Danny and his buddies and after that we made some GT fishing arrangements. Early mornings fishermen did a great deal of towing and this was the Mackeral, Tuna and MahiMahi seasons, but we were here to try the GT-fishing. We were taken around the crushing cliffs of Mana Island, the fishing foothills of Malolo Island and the bomb dwellings around the "Fiji Barrier Reef".
There are no fishfinders, no G. P.G. and no navigational aids, just location-specific. We' ve landed many sharks every single outing. Fishes range from 2-3kg BlueFin to 10-20kg GPU. We were able to catch tuna, ruby jobfish, small barracuda, small dogtooth tuna and coral brownrout. Jumping onto the Perth-like ships, we sailed to the outside and the canal about 15 miles off the coast.
and we were all getting set to fall in 60 yards of slack. When we fought the fishing, another rig was dumped and before it was on. One barracuda and one dogtooth tuna were landing and we were thrilled. There was another one on the hook and it felt good.
And after a few good walks, the little guy gave in. At the time we thought this was supposed to be a good one. and the Deckky pushes the waffle through his mind. The first Ruby Jobfish.... and it's a beaut! Rigging went on and many similar species ended up.
One of the most beautiful jogging and fishing of the journey. It has opened up a whole new fervour for the Pacific Islands. They are many kinds and different seasons of the year and I can only think how much I enjoy it.
