Iles Eparses (scattered islands) -

In the Indian Ocean, the scatters are made up of four small Indian Ocean reefs, an avatar and an indian ocean wall. Since February 2007, they form the fifth French Southern and Antarctic Territory (TAAF). These are French, and the Commissioner for Reunification is responsible for these islets.

The Glorioso Isles, Juan de Nova and Europe and the Bassas da India Atlas are located in the Mozambique Channel just south of Madagascar, while the 4th islet, Tromelin, is about 450 kilometers eastwards of Madagascar. The Banc du Geyser, a coral canal, is also located in Mozambique. This coral canal is under France's command and has been used by Madagascar since 1976.

The Banc du Geyser is part of the Glorioso Island in France and the Comoros. Visits to boats that wish to explore these archipelagoes require a permission, which should be requested up to 2 month before your trip. Visas and permits are necessary to enter these countries.

Requests for permission must be submitted at least 2 month before the planned date of your appointment. There is a mooring near the Ile du Lys and the France policemen are stationed on the island of Glorieuse. You may or may not come to you to see your documents. EuropeThe only recognised berths are on the sand tableland bordering the northern cost.

The mooring is very vulnerable to the northern breezes. The Bassas da IndiaAnchor at a 21m deep in the sandy area with crushed corals, about 300m NE of the east part. The only possible mooring is in the northern cost. The laguna is subject to the northern breezes.

In 2012, Glorieuse France created the Glorieuses Natural Park, a natural reserve to conserve the threatened wildlife of the isles. You will find moorings off the coast and on the Île du Lys. SY Mala's following mooring information, which called at the Glorieuse Isles in October 2015 and provided the adjoining photo:

The access to the Glorieuse Isles, which are made up of the two major isles of Ile de Lys (N) and Grande Glorieuse (S), is safe. There' s a coral wall that connects the east side of the island. Coming from the north-east (i.e. with the winds from the Seychelles to Mayotte) around the N-tip of the Mt. Lys Ile and close to the mooring from the NNW.

It is anchored on a large sandbank with a depth of 4-8m and only a few deep situated reefs (... less than 2m from the ground). 151e in sandy 4-6m (depending on the tide) with good hold and at least 40m from the next top of the corals (which is only 1m high).

Tromelin anchor to the NW of the island Tromelin in 13m depth.
