Since October 2015 El Nido has an ATM, so that it is possible to get cash in El Nido. El Nido ATM is in the town hall. El Nido did not have an ATM before, so you would have to go to El Nido with enough cash to finance your journey or to Puerto Princesa (6 hrs away) for an ATM to work.

It is still recommended to bring ATMs to El Nido, as it is known that ATMs in such isolated areas are often out of funds or even out of order for a few working hours. You can count on us that you won't run out of funds in El Nido. Since November 2014, power has been available 24/7.

What kind of cash do I need in El Nido? In El Nido, the amount of cash needed depends on your travels. Days out now costs 1200P per head, I say now because all the shields in the city use to say 600P, but have backed up a slice of duct tape to say the new 1200P.
