Isle of Easter brings forth many things, but never apathy. Thrilling, it symbolises the secret of its nation and its past, which few known. The most astonishing treasure is hidden in this vulcanic country, which has been abandoned in the Pacific. The moais, caverns, crater and sandy shores give this place a special aura.
The Easter Island is one of the masterworks of our world, a magic encounter with the past. All means stillness, expanse, secret, legends. You are invited to reveal this island with a different look, which is orientated towards the untouched natural environment that has shaped its story. Today's wheather was quite nice with a slight south-easterly breeze; we still have to be under the impact of a fair-weather system. It is also our fourteenth Easter Island departure date, but David does not want to depart today because the winds are not favourable to travel to the Juan Fernández archipelago.
But I was frustrated by this choice because I thought that the good wheather would make it an excellent time to go on land with the Armada, to lift the anchors without the bug dipping in and rising, and to have a really calm departure on the journey. Furthermore, we are not in the Trades Ocean so that we have to deal with changing wind conditions anyway, just like in the last part of our Easter Island Pass.
Using the gentle breeze, we dropped the boom and repaired the seams on the ultraviolet shield. The foresail was down, David retightened the forestay because it was a bit slack. Worked on the lamp in the front part of the front part of the body that would not be lit, and a bolt was removed.
When we had completed our work, David and Marcie agreed to go on land for a while to speak to the Armada about another one. This was a very enjoyable afternoons and I spend my leisure activities in the dashboard using my telescopes to read, photograph and sniff.
We had a nice time on Easter Island. It was nice and hot with very little breeze. As I sat in the dashboard, I thought I saw a seabird swimming on the waters, so I examined it (surprisingly seabirds on Easter Island are unusual).
Instead, David and Marcie joined a whole bundle of polite banners, signalling and casgees into a 50-foot chain of yaw. Partially through the race the Dutches went back to their boat (they both went on shore at the same moment because it was so quiet and they had set two anchors).
They, too, immediately clothed their boat with signalling banners and then flown an extra-large Flemish banner from their sterns. When we had talked for a while, he went back to his boat and went back with his woman Ada (pronounced AH-dah and not AA-duh). You had also taken your boat around Cape Horn (via the canals) and even explored Antarctica, where you went on land with the Penguin.
It was a very succesful journey with great meteorological conditions, and it was said to them that the Arctic climate was exceptionally hot and calm this year. Her boat White Haze is over 40 years old and has a metal boat body, but a wood body and masts, which is an anomaly.
