With so many beautiful places to stay for the whole family in Fiji, it can be difficult to make a decision for a vacation with the whole of Fiji or to make a choice between the possibilities on the island of Denarau and beyond - Christine Kane presents four of the most beloved family-friendly vacation destinations in Fiji. Fiji's four most beloved families include Denarau, the Coral Coast, the islands of Mamanuca and Yasawa and Savusavu. Viti Levu is the biggest, the capitol Suva and the most important cities Nadi, Sigatoka, Ba, Lautoka and Denarau Island. Nadi International Airport is the most busy and comfortable gate, although a few hotels with a few airlines offer easy access from Australia to Suva.

The flourishing hot spot of eateries, cafés and shops is also the starting and finishing point for transfer to the Mamanuca and Yasawa Island complex. Denarau is home to such well-known global hotels as The Westin Resort & Spa, Sheraton Resort and Villas, Hilton's Fiji Resort & Spa, Wyndham Resort, Radisson Blu and Sofitel.

The Denarau is also the ideal starting point to get a foretaste of the significantly different way of life of the Illyrians. In less than half an hours you reach the four stars resort Sonaisali, in about 50 min the legendary Shangri-La and the InterContinentalFiji Golf Resort & Spa, in one hours the five stars Outrigger at the lagoon and in 90 min both the Naviti and the Warwick.

Both of these archipelagos make a stunning trails northwest of Viti Levu, spread out to the right and right as your Denarau Marina cruiser cruises through the gorgeous deep sea and takes vacationers to their islands' resorts. Mamanuca' s closest islands are the most loved by the family and all are within 60 min from Denarau.

The new Sheraton Tokoriki Islands Estate is waiting for you! Treasure Iceland, Malolo Iceland Estate, Plantation Iceland Estate, Musket Cove Estate, Mana Iceland Estate, Castaway Iceland Estate and the new Sheraton Tokoriki Iceland Estate. Several of the smaller Korallenatolle have a unique spa and you can explore the whole islands relatively easily on foot (or by kayak). Because of the tides on the islands, the water around some of the resort is too flat for greater boating acces.

You will be transferred at sea from the shuttle to a fast patrol vessel, which will take you (and your luggage) directly to your point on the isle. There is often a brief, barefooted wading through flat, clear, hot water and welcoming boating crews and rescue personnel are ready to transport your baggage and help you out of the sands.

There is nothing faster to set your watch on Fiji Time than a comfortable cruise past lovely islands and a barefooted finish at your beach resorta! Seaside transfer and wade-ups are great enjoyment and certainly contribute to the feeling of thrill, adventures and recreation that only an isolated vacation can provide, but if you are traveling with someone for whom this may be either challenging or discouraging, consider a stay at one of the family-friendly deep water and private jetties such as Plantation Iceland Reserve, Musket Cove or Mana Iceland Rect.

Koro Sun is also located in Savusavu. On 60 ha the resort's scenery extends with a gorgeous rainforest and spectacular rainforest surrounding a soft Laguna, and the residence provides many children's pursuits and many opportunities for families to chill out and soak up! There are three scheduled services between Nadi and Savusau or you can rent a floatplane through Pacific Island Seaplanes in Nadi.

There are also several ferries a day from Suva to Savusavu.
