Fishguard, Wales Cruise Port, 2018 and 2019 cruises to Fishguard, Wales

To the south-west of Wales in the United Kingdom there is the ferry harbour of Fishguard (or Abergwaun in Welsh, meaning "mouth of the Gwaun River"), a city of about 5,400 inhabitants, which was founded between 950 and 1000 AD.

In spite of its small dimensions, Fishguard has a story of the production of some of the most intriguing inhabitants, such as Jemima Nicholas, one of the first ladies in the city' s first-ever name. With only one hayfork, she took twelve Fishguard troops prisoner in 1797 during the Battle of Fishguard, and there is a commemorative tablet here to remember her courage.
