It' a small port city on the Isle of Mull, with art and jewelry art shops and a selection of cafés. Farther away on Mull are Glengorm, Torosay and Duart castles and backyards.
It was always so enjoyable and this created a very cheerful ambience aboard the vessel. From Inverness to Kyle in June 2013 for 7 nights. Whilst not very skilled sailors, we have on 5 or 6 and this supreme cruiser will beat all of them by far - for us, it sets a benchmark others should endeavour to meet.
However, particular thanks go to the captain, Brian, (the hotelmanager ) and the Lord of the Glens staff, whose work, devotion and passion have made it such a pleasant event. We' ve done and enjoy a lot of cruises on the rivers, but this journey was something extraordinary and extraordinary and we very much look forward to repeating it.
Me and my man recently came back from our cruise across the Caledonian Canal to Mull on The Lord of the Glens. This cruise was all I had been hoping for and certainly met our requirements - and more. It is an astonishing slice of hovering refinement and luxuriousness both in the common areas and in our cabins, and the dining was great - how on the whole the staff succeeded in producing such diverse and interesting meals in a rather confined area that I will never experience, but breakfasts, lunches and dinners were always a pleasure to look forward to every single working days and always perfectly catered for.
This whole parcel was a luxurious and relaxing experience, not only for what the cruise offered, but also for what was not on the boat; there were no kids who shook the tranquillity and calmness, and no "entertainment on the boat every night" (in the shape of livemusic, quiz, playing and the like).
were perfectly tuned to the cruise and never diverted by the boat or the breathtaking landscape through which we sailed. We' d love to go on another cruise with The Lord of the Glens and would very much appreciate it if we were kept informed about the 2014 cruise offers.
Again, many thanks to everyone, both on the vessel and to the back room personnel in your offices, who earn no less than the crews on the vessel, because my man says to me that you have been extremely kind and effective in all his relations with you. So you know that our stay on Lord of the Glens was as great as any vacation we've ever had!
Nothing went terribly awry, because the boat, the team, the guides, the route, the food, the services and the personnel were marvellous! We' ve reserved a cruise on the Lord of the Glens cruise liner for the first weekend in May 2012, for the cruise from Oban and along the Caledonian Canal. This cruise was very well organized by the skipper and the boat crews and all the excursions ashore were very interesting and entertaining, which was confirmed all the more by the perfect meteorological conditions and the expert guides.
There was 5* class dining on the boat and the waitress and waitress who was serving our dishes were very kind and effective. At the end of October 2010 we drove on the'Lord of the Glens' to commemorate our marriageday. If we added the classy boat, the powerful yet welcoming staff, the diversity of land trips and the outstanding cuisine, we had the ideal setting for us.
Me and my hubby have chosen this cruise for my fortieth anniversary. As soon as we were collected from the train station in Inverness, everything went according to schedule and we had the best vacation we ever had. Because of the bad wheather, we didn't see a single drip of sun.
We had a great selection of different travellers on the boat and over the course of the day we made new acquaintances and share a magic world. Food was excellent and also the service - all the employees on the boat were supportive and our'hotel manager' was a lot of pleasure. We had a great time on the Caledonian Canal last October.
The cruise began early in the mornings from Fort Augustus with a brief excursion to Loch Ness. Then we began our journey seriously by ascending the sluices to the Caledonian Canal itself. We drove along Loch Linhe in the early hours and after that we drove across the ocean to the Isle of Mull.
Our last outing was back to the 21 st cent. to Oban and spend our last evening in Oban. Just think of my astonishment when I found out that I had won a cruise for two on "The Lord of the Glen" through the W.I. Membership Books... From Inverness station we reached our selected pick-up point.
I got my first glimpse of the Lord of the Glens vessel as WOW. It was an outstanding landscape and the trip we had offered from the cruise operator went well. I' m sure I would have given this cruise 5-star, but unfortunately there were some hiccups! There was an incident on the fourth of the days with a car and the gate at the revolving gantry over the Caledonian Canal.
It was a great route through the Great Glen, which then led to so many islands. There was a double cab on Lord of the Glens July Cruise 2013 and we had a great we had. Award ed 4-night cruise aboard Lord of the Glens last weekend (13-17 October 2008) - the best way to see the lakes and sluices!
The cruise on the'Lord of the Glens' was an unforgettable adventure from arrival to departure. Being a former navy man and having made half a decade of cruising on both sides of the Atlantic, I was very much struck by the ship, which was very well suited to this kind of cruise.
Thank you all at Blue Water, we are now looking forward to the cruise you organised for us in Portugal in June.
