Scotland has not been omitted when it comes to cruising internationally. There are three cruise harbours in Scotland and many other cruise ships stop here on regular sail. A lot of those planning a cruise from Scotland do not want to take the trip to see their cruise liner in a distant harbour and take a cruise from Scotland.
Scotland has three major ports: Greenock, Rozyth and Leith. The cruise service from Rozyth is provided by Fred Olsen Crois. Located near Edinburgh airport, Rose is the place where the crowd will cruise under the famous Forth Bridges. Catamarans dock at harbours in Ireland, Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
Leith Harbour is a cruise harbour on the eastern seaboard and belongs to the city of Edinburgh. When you opt for a cruise from Leith, you can opt for a cruise with the Silversea or Cruise & Maritime Voyages cruise lines. From Edinburgh to the Hebrides and Scotland Islands, Scandinavia, Ireland and Northern Europe.
Greenock cruise ships are run by Fred Olsen and Silversea. Scotland's Greenock is Scotland's western coastal cruise harbour and is less than half an hour's car ride from Glasgow Airport. From Greenock you can sail to Scotland's cruise ports such as Orkney and Shetland as well as the Mediterranean, Portugal and Gibraltar.
