Capetown Dams: Substantial increase in the level of waters after rainfall

The Cape Town reservoirs were hit by rains and blizzards, and their waters have increased significantly. This is the 6th successive weeks in which the institutions, which looked distressed and dried out just two month ago, made profits. The numbers published by the Western Cape administration on Monday will please its people.

Capetown Dams: Last weekend, the embankments that served the mother city were 42.3% full. Teewaterskloof embankment - 34.1% full this weeks (2017: 19.2%. last week: 29%). Voƫlvlia Reservoir - 44.6% full this weeks (2017: 20.2%. last week: 38%). Berggriver embankment - 78% full this weeks (2017: 35%. last week: 67%).

last week: 57.4%). As further hydroelectric power plant project dates will be published later this weekend, it is quite reasonable that Monday's rainfall - which has not yet been taken into consideration by the town - could increase the mean to over 50%. Mr Bredell is the Western Cape Secretary of State for Local Government, Environment and Development Planning.

His focus was on the severe conditions that hit the provinces last week: The hydroelectric power plants that supply the remainder of the Western Cape also grew at an annual rate of 41.5%, almost twice as fast as 12-month ago. He said that nobody was out of the forest yet and that the provinces still had to do everything to conserve it.
