Best Time to go to Fiji Coral Coast
Fiji's coral coast is the best time to travelWeather in Fiji - Fiji, South Pacific forecast
When you go to Fiji or another group of islands in the area (e.g. Tahiti, Samoa or Cook Islands) for a holiday on the beaches, the best time to travel is between April and early October. It' not the wet period these days either. April-May and October/November are the best for Fiji.
Temperatures are comfortable without the cold that you get from June to September. Same goes for the temperature of the air: comfortable, quite warmer but with colder temperatures at night. From November to March it is damp and can be very cold, it is the rainy time. Of course it can and does rainy in any time of the year.
Keep in mind the Fiji climate is a beastly one. Time to go really does depend on your reasons for the trip. If you are interested in scuba or windsurfing, the Fiji winters are the best time - for the longest stops and the best view. The colder, dryer winters make for a more pleasant time for country pursuits such as walking, cycling or rain forest trekking.
Other people looking for the best time to go snorkelling when the waters are hot and the waves are not so strong would prefer the summers. Scuba is the best in Fiji all year round. Because of the oceans in the area, and not on the continent, Fiji is fortunate not to be affected by run-off or major changes in meteorological conditions or monsoons.
It is a season known for its tranquil waters that allow diving safaris and boats to reach more distant islands and islets.
Is it the best time to go to Fiji? - Fora del Fiji
Is it the best time to go to Fiji? Hello Robyn, For our dives we recommend the months April - May. It' s after the wet period, and since it's your case, the temperature of the waters is hotter (usually about 84F/29C) than in September/October, when the temperature of the waters can be 4-5F.
The temperature of the atmosphere is also hotter; beautiful! The last weeks we had driven in March before and were generally lucky, except for the year in which cyclone Tomas was sitting over Fiji for 4 nights. One part of the trouble with the rains in Fiji is that they often blow out the Viz under water, especially when you dive near the shores and/or in a lake like Beqa.
They also have great dives ashore - were you there? Favourite dives were Taveuni, Naigani and Kadavu. We' ve found that scuba in the Mamanucas and Yasawas is simply not as good as elsewhere in Fiji (although there are still great dives there), but I think these isles are a little dryer because they are west like Nadi.
