On the southwest coastline you can enjoy the best laziest beaches; in Kefalos you will find the best choice of sand beaches to toss your canvas on. There are nine large British towns with direct flights to the islands, among them London, Leeds, Cardiff and Glasgow.
Crete, the biggest Greek isle, is home to the Knossos Palace. Today there are numerous sunbathing spots, lots of entertainment in the Malia nightlife city and taverns hidden in hilly towns all over the isle. Probably the Cyclades' most greenish of islands, Naxos' unbelievable nature beauties has deserved its call as the Hawaii of Greece.
Nearly 100 km of unbelievably clear water washes around almost 100 km of unspoilt sand and is the ideal place to perhaps fall to your knees? Like Dionysos, the Greek king of wines, find a virgin to be married on Naxos, or take your own sundae with you for a romance withdrawal.
Naxos may have nice sandy areas, but there are no major airport sites. When you want to see this picturesque place, it is best to take the ferries to Santorini or Mykonos. One of the pearls in the Aegean, Paros is often just a stopover for tourists on their way to Ios and Santorini, but it earns a little more from your vacationing.
Here are many immaculate picture card towns, visit Parikia (the capital), Lefkes and Marpissa, to name but a few, for their wealth of whitewashed homes and hills of homemade meat, the Greek equivalent of homemade spaghetti. Getting to Paros: Once again you can't go directly to the isle, but don't be deterred: it's a simple trip by boat from Athens or even Santorini if you do some of the above-mentioned jumping.
In Folegandros for an authentically Greek insular experience, there are few diversions besides Angali Beach, Chora Town, Karavostasi Port and Ano Meria Town. The little-known exodus from the islands is a great place to hike, but although it is a little calmer than its neighbors, Folegandros is quite bustling in the high seasons and the accommodations fill up quickly, so you should reserve in advanced.
Arrival to Folegandros: No, Folegandros has no airports, but there are frequent ferry services to and from Santorini. In Alonissos you will find pinewoods and pebbly sands. In recent years, this sporadic islands has become very much loved by jet-setters in search of a more green Greek escape; there are many eco-resorts on the islands, which means that there are many campsites where you can meet the outdoors.
The Alonissos is a large naval reserve, the biggest in Europe, so come here if you want to see monks or snorkel a little. This is another nice but airportless isle. If you' re going to Skiathos or Athens, take the ferry over there. Kefalonia, the 6th biggest Greek isle, is the right place if you want to oversize your holiday on the islands, from vast ponds and high peaks to humus and olive dishes served in taverns.
In the modest Greek cuisine, you get your laughter equipment around a plate of Kephalonian flesh cake; it is not exactly tender, but it is certainly delectable. He has an airfield. It is the best way to discover Ios on two bicycles, preferably motorized, as it is quite undulating. Ios has no airports, but if you are flying to Athens or Santorini, you can cross a boat. You have probably seen the photograph a hundred photos; the Navagio Bay on the Isle of Zante is one of the most frequently taken in Greece.
This wreck was a smuggling vessel that died in 1981 and got swept up in this wonderful cove. There is only one major street on the archipelago and you will land safely in the capital, where most of the accommodations are located. The nearest Skopelos is Skiathos International Airfield. When you land, take a boat to the isle - it should only take about 15 mins.
Go for a walk and walk across the islands along various hiking paths, drive a mule or rent ave. Arrival to Amorgos: Santorini is the nearest Santorini International or you can take a flight to Athens. Anyway, it is a trip by boat (but a very pictorial one).
