Remain secure while you enjoy our beautiful beaches, as the waters are a possible danger. You can take safety precautions while in, on and under the sea. Refer to New Zealand's New Zealand Classification. Every year in the summers Surf Life Saving New Zealand is patrolling over 80 of New Zealand's most crowded beaches.

Some of our beaches are not under patrol - you can find them at findabeach.co.nz. We are one of the few towns in the word located between two ports on two distinct large waters - the Tasman Sea in the western part and the Pacific Ocean in the eastern part.

North-Auckland' s best beaches

Aucklanders has a long, sandy and long sandy coastline near T?wharanui between a verdant park and a bright ocean and has long been a popular holiday area. Wrap up a picknick and prepare for a sunny and sandy and wavy days. When you' ve never been there, think of the unstable, beautiful beaches.

Only 10 minutes by car from the center of town, take a break at Takapuna on Auckland' s North Shore Bay. Children love the new play area, and if you have too much light, you can chill out in one of the cafes, bars, restaurants or shops directly opposite the bath. At Pakiri you will find a small stretch of paradise with clear water, surrounded by over 14 kilometers of untouched golden sand.

Sense the ocean on your face with a horseback riding on the shore for a one-of-a-kind adventure with your loved ones or mates. If you had a great atmosphere, you wouldn't know that Orewa is only 20 min from the centre of Auckland. It' ideal for a group outing, with play areas, secure swim and lots of aquatic activity which includes kayak, kitesurf and windsurf.

Take the boat to Devonport and take the 25-minute shallow stroll to Cheltenham Beach. Situated in a protected cove, this is a good choice for a half days excursion from the town, amidst the beautiful villas of Victoria for which Devonport is known. The beach is a broad, sandy beach with a beautiful view of the Hauraki Golfinseln.
