Marquesas Aranui 3 Cruise - Marquesas Islands Message Board

Today I came back from a 14-day Aranui 3 ferry from Papeete to the Tuamotus and Marquesas. Aranui 3 is a freighter/passenger vessel that transports about 150-180 travellers with a Polish garrison and tours places that few can ever see. I will publish a travelogue soon, but this is one that every adventurous traveler should put on his heap.

I can' t wait to get the detail of your journey. You will find the following links to the website I have written about my journey. For your information, the Tuha'a Pae, a ship operating the Australian Isles, is designing the same type of cruises for the Australian Isles of Rimatara, Rurutu, Tubuai, Raivavae and Rapa from Papeete.

We' ll be on the Aranui 3 next July. That'?s a great story, Cap'n. I would like to do this trip one day, although I think it would be a little hard for my woman (maybe for me too, but I would be willing to take a chance on her for this particular itinerary. We' ll be on the Aranui next July and wondered how best to import USdollar.

Are travellers cheques the best or some cash? Do you have change on the Aranui? A lot of vendors no longer accepts travellers cheques in Polynesia. Papeete International has aircrafts for currency change, but the prices are very unfavourable. Usually I swap cash (for PF - Polish Francs) at my home US branch. before my journey and take additional bucks with me, just in case.
